Ingredients
- 1½ cups buckwheat flour
- 3 tablespoons wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon soda (scant)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons hot water
Instructions
- Mix the two flours and add the salt.
- Add the buttermilk and the beaten egg. At the last, add the soda dissolved in the hot water.
- Mix thoroughly, beating up well to the proper consistency for dropping from the tip of a spoon onto a hot, greased griddle.
- Grease the griddle with vegetable oil to minimize smoke.
